Description
Part of the “In the Old Days” product line, these figurines depict Eo-u-dong and the famous beauty found in painter Shin, Yoon-bok’s painting “Painting of a Beauty”. Eo-u-dong was a courtesan also known as “kisaeng” in Korean. Kisaengs were known as professional women who were not limited to providing sexual services when needed, but were also trained in various forms of art and dance and even poetry.
Carefully made and painted by hand, they’re enjoyed in Korea not only as collector figurines but also as educational items for children to learn about the past.
