Description
Part of the “In the Old Days” product line, these figurines depict a young girl carrying her baby sibling on her back to help her mother and a little boy with a winnowing basket on his head and a bowl to get salt. In the old days, young boys who wet their bed were told to go around the village and knock on their neighbor’s to get salt. The goal was to have the child be embarrassed so he wouldn’t wet his bed anymore.
Carefully made and painted by hand, they’re enjoyed in Korea not only as collector figurines but also as educational items for children to learn about the past.
